We were really looking forward to transforming this unused area into a traditional Japanese courtyard.

Here we created a Gyo-style Nobedan, an informal Cobblestone pathway utilising the abundance of local river stone found on the property, with accents of rectangular sawn Buckland sandstone.

Granite garden ornaments complement the space nicely with the use of the Oribe lantern and extra large Natsume water basin or chozubachi.

The planting scheme was mostly traditional with Camellia, Azalea, Pieris and mondo grass.
