Nowergup (W.A)

This very special garden was created in 2009 in the Perth (Western Australian) suburb of Nowergup.

Located 45 minutes from Perth CBD on a small bush block. This exciting take on an Australian native zen garden caught the eyes of LIAWA (Landscape Industry Association of Western Australia) judges winning the 2010 “Award for Excellence”.

This bold space was designed by renowned Japanese garden designer Eiji Morozumi. Carefully constructed by the team at Japanese Landscaping Pty Ltd.

The zen garden area was painstakingly excavated by hand to expose the twisted limestone formations laying just below the surface.

Here existing gum trees, Xanthorrhoea (grass trees) and some spectacular mature Dryandra species combine with new plantings of Agonis, Acacia and Leucaphyta to create an interesting tapestry of colour and texture.
