Genaea Beswick

Genaea has been in the horticultural and landscaping industry since 2007.

With an existing love for working outdoors as a qualified swimming instructor in Perth, Western Australia she decided to make a change over the winter period and took on a role as a nursery hand at a specialised wholesale plant nursery WPF.

It was here that she met her future husband and business partner Adam. Her love for plants and especially flowers grew over time, having being exposed to hundreds of different species of Australian natives.

In 2010 Genaea and Adam decided to start their own landscaping business based on Adams experience as a landscaper. Genaea’s extensive background in hospitality management stood her in good stead to one day run her own business.

Taking on administrative and book-keeping roles was done with relative ease, however the more challenging aspects were working with her husband on garden maintenance and construction projects.

Adam provided “on the job” experience which was a steep learning curve at first, the extreme physicality of the job meant she needed to be in top physical shape.

In 2013 Adam and Genaea decided to move their growing family to southern Tasmania, continuing their business servicing mainly the Huon Valley region.

Being one of very few women in the landscape construction business, she is an inspiration for all women who want to venture into a mainly male dominated world.

From pushing heavy wheel barrows to mixing mortar to stonemasonry and paving there is nothing that Genaea hasn’t tackled during her 10 years of experience

Genaea is a real asset to the business and her keen attention to detail ensures that projects are delivered to the highest quality and standards.

When Genaea is not creating stunning gardens she can usually be found creating beautiful arrangements, being a keen floral artist using mainly foraged and native species for inspiration.
